Parcel rules, review and SmartFACT

Turn plain English parcel rules into approved recommendations and automatic preset selection.

This guide describes the service scope. Access and the workflow supported for your site are confirmed during onboarding.

Three ways to choose the parcel

ParcelOffice has three modes that share one booking and printing process:

  • Manual: the operator scans the approved preset after the work order. It is always available.
  • Assisted: approved rules recommend a preset and explain why. Nothing is booked until the operator confirms.
  • Automatic: at an explicitly armed, attended station, the work-order scan alone books the shipment the rules selected.

Turn a plain English rule into a working one

Describe a rule such as “For a single packed item under 2 kg, use the 1 × small bag preset.” SmartFACT converts it into a precise condition on the work-order fields your system supplies, such as package count, weight or product category. Each rule has one action: select an approved preset, or hold the despatch with a reason your operators can read.

Conservative when the answer is unclear

Every active rule is checked for each despatch. A matching hold always wins. A job no rule covers is held for a person, and two rules choosing different presets are held as a conflict; there is no hidden first-match or default. Missing data never matches by accident, and the chosen preset is still checked against the real packages, delivery area and courier limits.

Approve once, apply at the bench

Your team checks example work orders against the expected presets and approves a release. ParcelOffice then applies those rules exactly as approved, without an AI call at the bench. Automatic is switched on for a workflow only after it has been qualified on real despatches, and a change to the rules or presets ends that qualification until it is reviewed again.
