EARLY-ACCESS GUIDE · UPDATED 2 October 2026
Bookings, reprints and recovery
How ParcelOffice keeps one shipment per despatch and makes every uncertain outcome visible.
This guide describes the service scope. Access and the workflow supported for your site are confirmed during onboarding.
One despatch, one shipment
Each despatch reference can have one active booking. Repeated scans, double clicks, a second station or a browser retry all resolve to the same shipment. A previously booked despatch opens its existing result with the supervisor actions that are safe to take.
When the courier’s answer is uncertain
If the connection drops after a booking request was sent, the courier may or may not have created the shipment. ParcelOffice holds the despatch, shows what is known and unknown, and gives the supervisor a reference to investigate. It does not send the booking again on the chance that the first one failed.
Reprints are not new shipments
Original labels are kept for exact reprints, with the reason recorded. If a label has to be fetched again from the courier, the new copy is marked as regenerated rather than identical. Printing and reprinting never create a courier shipment.
Cancelling a shipment
A supervisor can request cancellation from the courier where the account supports it. A cancellation request is recorded separately from the courier’s confirmation, and stopping a print job is never treated as cancelling the shipment. Remove obsolete labels from the bench, and check charges with the courier.
Names that mean what they say
Booked, label sent, output confirmed and source updated are different events, and ParcelOffice reports each one separately. It does not claim that a parcel was collected or delivered. Your business decides when a job counts as despatched.
