EARLY-ACCESS GUIDE · UPDATED 2 October 2026
How ParcelOffice works
From an approved parcel choice to a booked shipment, courier labels at the bench and tracking on the job.
This guide describes the service scope. Access and the workflow supported for your site are confirmed during onboarding.
Set up the parcel choices
An administrator creates a preset for each packing arrangement you use: a readable caption, the number of packages, the courier service and the package measurements it relies on. Drafts are tested against example work orders. Activation needs an administrator with a recent second-factor check. Published presets never change in place, and a retired barcode never acquires a new meaning.
Scan the work order
The station asks your factory software for the scanned reference. The answer is ready, not ready, not found or ambiguous; a lookup failure is never treated as an empty order. A ready order shows the recipient, postcode and the presets that suit it. Delivery details are read-only, and a loaded order expires after a few minutes so stale data cannot be booked.
Scan the parcel choice
The operator scans the preset that matches the packed parcel. That scan authorises the booking, so first-time operators see a short explanation before they start. ParcelOffice freezes the inputs, checks the order again with your system and books one shipment on your courier account. A repeated scan opens the same shipment instead of creating another.
Print and report back
The courier returns labels for every package. ParcelOffice sends them to the station’s printer through SmartFACT PrintStation, then sends the shipment and tracking details back to the job. The station says “Label sent” once the label has been submitted to the printer, and “Output confirmed” only when someone records seeing it. Courier collection is a separate event.
