How to print courier labels from a work order

Updated

Printing courier labels from factory software means booking the shipment and printing its labels straight from the work order, without retyping the address into a courier website. ParcelOffice does it with two scans at the packing bench, on your own account with the major UK couriers, and sends the labels to the bench printer through SmartFACT PrintStation.

Use the courier account you already have

ParcelOffice books the major UK couriers on your own account. Your rates, collection arrangements and relationship with the courier stay as they are. Tell us which couriers you use and we connect them during onboarding.

Labels in the right format

ParcelOffice requests the label format, size and orientation qualified for your printer and stock, then sends it through SmartFACT PrintStation. Labels are never resized or redrawn to make them fit, and the printer, stock and format are checked with real labels before the bench goes live.

Approved presets, not guesses

A preset's readable name, such as 2 × medium box, is separate from the courier service behind it. Each preset is checked against example orders that should and should not use it, then activated by an administrator, and the services, delivery areas and package limits are confirmed for your account during onboarding.

At the bench, a preset that does not suit the order is refused rather than replaced with another service.

More than one parcel

When a job goes in two boxes, one booking holds both parcels and each parcel has its own label. The labels print one after another, each as its own print job, and the operator checks each label against its parcel.

Moving from an older integration

If your current despatch relies on an older courier connection or a courier website, bring an example of what you send today. We check your account type and the services you use, then set up your first bench. ParcelOffice is an independent SmartFACT service.

What ParcelOffice does not do

  • Rate shopping. Each preset is tied to one service on your account.
  • Label design. Courier labels print as the courier supplies them, never redrawn.
  • Parcel measuring. Weights and dimensions come from your system or a fixed-content preset.

Common questions

Which couriers does it work with?

The major UK couriers, booked on your own business account at your own rates and collection arrangements. Tell us which couriers you use and we connect them during onboarding. Each account, service and label format is checked with real labels before you go live.

Can we reprint a label?

Yes. A supervisor reprints the original saved label with a reason. A reprint never books a new shipment or buys postage again.

Early access starts with an agreed workflow. Supported scope and onboarding arrangements are confirmed with you.
